The middle-aged woman wore shoes that were three inches to short for her feet.

I took my kids to the mall, shopping for school clothes. My son tried on some jeans and my daughter and I sat, waiting. A group of three females entered the space. One woman was older, one was middle-aged, and the last was a teen. The group stuck out to me because there wasn’t a young man in their group. As the women shopped, they separated, flipping through clothes on the racks. The middle-aged woman wore shoes that were three inches to short for her feet. My daughter and I exchanged perplexed glances.

I wiggled my nose, blinked my eyes, and a man appeared from an employees door. He hurried to the middle-aged woman with short shoes then kissed her on the cheek. When the three women headed out with the man in tow, I noticed the hem on the man’s jeans was above the ankle!

“What on earth are we going to do with so many bottle caps? Sometimes I don’t understand you.”

At a craft fair, I met a old lady who makes unique feather art pictures. She selects, dyes, glues the feathers onto a background (painted or simple) and frames them. I wanted to reference her online, unfortunatly, she said she wasn’t available there. She seemed like a nice woman, a go-getter, but I couldn’t understand why she wouldn’t want to share her work everywhere.

I wiggled my nose, blinked my eyes, and took a few steps back when a man approached the table. He was tall, wore a hat. His confident hands held out a group of bottle-caps. “Look, honey,” he said. “I’ve found a new cap for my collection.”

She replied, “What on earth are we going to do with so many bottle caps? Sometimes I don’t understand you.”

“That’s what makes us work.” He kissed her cheek.

Entertainment at the Summer Festival

I walked by a booth at a Summer festival and saw three people huddled around a woman at a table. They were having a in-depth conversation I couldn’t hear. What caught my eye was a dark hair woman who opened her eyes wider when she spoke. She didn’t do it when she was listening.

I wiggled my nose, blinked my eyes, and realized that one of the three people huddled around her was a man. When I shifted closer, I notice, he widened his eyes to listen and narrowed them to speak with her. He said, “I enjoyed our lunch and look forward to our dinner.”

“I couldn’t help but notice your fantastic taste in lingerie.”

I was sitting at a table in the outdoor community center where an in-ground water fountain was running. A crowd gathered around the fountain on this beautiful day and a young woman caught my eye. She wore a pretty, short, flowing, flowery dress appropriate for Spring. When she turned, I discovered the dress had a low back. Unfortunately, her black bra strap distracted me from the beauty of the dress.

I wiggled my nose, blinked my eyes, and noticed a man exiting the Victoria’s Secret shop adjacent to the water fountain. His attention was focused on his phone, but when the woman laughed, he looked up. Phone forgotten, the man hurried to the woman and said, “I’m the night manager for Victoria’s Secret. I couldn’t help but notice your fantastic taste in lingerie.” He gestured to the shop opposite their location then added, “May I buy you a cup of coffee?”
